NEWS2 is the National Early Warning Score system used in hospitals to identify patients at risk of clinical deterioration based on vital signs such as respiration rate, oxygen saturation, blood pressure, pulse, consciousness level and temperature.

What NEWS2 score requires urgent review?

A NEWS2 score of 5 or more requires urgent clinical review and a score of 7 or more indicates high risk requiring emergency medical assessment.
